Chaunesti Webb

Chaunesti Webb is a 15-year marketing communications practitioner, arts administrator, project manager, and interdisciplinary theater artist. Chaunesti has developed and executed marketing communication plans, led community development efforts, and produced live interactive and video training modules related to diversity and inclusion learning for the public, private and nonprofit sectors, including Duke Arts & Health, Duke University Office for Institutional Equity, GlaxoSmithKline, and the City of Durham Department of Parks & Recreation.

Chaunesti has managed annual conferences and led planning efforts for national and international theater and dance associations. Her work has also included developing and implementing marketing and promotions strategy for music concerts and festivals, theater productions, and television programming, including a NC-produced telenovela series.

Chaunesti holds a BA in Communication Studies from The University of NC at Greensboro, an MFA in Theater and Contemporary Studies from Naropa University, and a MA in Performance Studies from Northwestern University. Chaunesti is currently pursuing her PhD in performance studies at Northwestern University. Her areas of research include: performance collectives, community development, the Black feminist avant-garde, Black performance theory, improvisation, cultural studies, ritual, and activism.
